For years, I used a small Mac app to adjust the hardware settings of my USB webcam — things like exposure, focus, white balance, and zoom.
It did one job, and it did it well.
Eventually, the app stopped being updated and no longer worked properly on modern Macs. I started looking for a replacement, but most of the alternatives I found were built around filters and software effects. They changed the image after it had already been captured instead of controlling the camera itself.
I didn't want more effects. I just wanted the same simple, direct control over my webcam.
